  1. 31. Discrimination between healthy and cancerous lungs with the use of an electronic nose

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk teknik

    Författare :Martin Bäckström; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Electronic nose;

    Sammanfattning : Lung cancer is one of the most serious and common cancer types of today, with very uncomfortable and potentially cumbersome diagnostic techniques in x-ray, CT, CT-PET scans, bronchoscopies and biopsies. Completing all these steps can also take a long time and be time consuming for hospital staff. LÄS MER

  2. 32. Investigation of the prognostic value of CT and PET-based radiomic image features in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Medicinsk strålningsfysik, Lund; Lunds universitet/Sjukhusfysikerutbildningen

    Författare :Mohammed Mosad Said; [2016]
    Nyckelord :Medicine and Health Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Background Medical data in the form of radiographic routine scans is steadily accumulating. The analysis of such data through automated quantitative methods is believed to produce new information which would allow for more personalization of therapy. The present thesis investigated the use of such methods in head and neck cancer. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Evaluation of Quantitative PET/CT Usage for Cancer Treatment

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Författare :Rebecka Henrysson; [2016]
    Nyckelord :PET CT images; Prototype; PET CT report; Cancer treatment; SUV; PET CT; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Cancer is a disease affecting practically the entire society in one way or another. A great effort is made to find a cure and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) has recently become a vital part to achieve this goal. LÄS MER

  4. 34. TLD Measurements on Patients being treated with a Taylor Spatial Frame : Using Radiation from Na18F PET/CT Studies and from Naturally Occurring Radioisotopes

    Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/Fysikum

    Författare :Kousha Mirzadeh; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Taylor Spatial Frame; Thermoluminescent dosimeters; Tibia fracture; Bone remodeling; Na18F; PET CT; Bone seeking radionuclide;

    Sammanfattning : Background: In an ongoing study conducted at Karolinska Institutet & Karolinska University Hospital, Positron Emission Tomography (PET)/Computed Tomography (CT) scans are performed on patients with tibia fractures and deformations treated with Taylor Spatial Frames (TSFs) in order to monitor their bone remodeling progress. Each patients receive an administration of approximately 2 MBq/kg bodyweight of Na18F associated with PET scans on two sessions, six and twelve weeks after the attachment of the TSF. LÄS MER

  5. 35. A porcine type 1 Diabetes Mellitus model, for non-invasive in vivo imaging of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor in the pancreas, using [68Ga]Ga-DO3A-VS-Cys40-conjugated synthetic exendin-4 in PET-CT

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Susanne Andréasson; [2014]
    Nyckelord :Exendin-4; GLP-1R; pig; beta cell imaging; beta cell mass; Exendin-4; gris; betacellsmassan; PET-CT;

    Sammanfattning : Diabetes mellitus is a rising epidemic throughout the world and there is currently great interest in quantifying the beta-cell mass (BCM) in vivo non-invasively. In the present experiment, the feasibility of in vivo imaging of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) in beta-cells was examined, using the positron emission tomography (PET) tracer [68Ga]Ga-DO3A-VS-Cys40-exendin-4 as a marker, in native pancreatic beta-cells of a porcine diabetic animal model and healthy controls.
