  1. 1. Impact of nitrogen availability and nitrogen structural composition on fungal enzymatic activity and growth : how nutrient availability governs response and development of three saprotrophic Basidiomycetes

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Soil and Environment

    Författare :Bella Strid; [2024]
    Nyckelord :nitrogen; tannins; condensed tannins; MnP; manganese peroxidase; peptidase; saprotrophic basidiomycetes;

    Sammanfattning : Fungi excrete a wide variety of extracellular enzymes to scavenge for nutrients, such as the often scarce yet essential nutrient nitrogen. All fungi produce highly specialized hydrolytic enzymes, e.g. peptidases, that depolymerize organic molecules. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Torkstress hos urbana träd i Göteborg: Effekter av låg vattentillgång under torkan 2018

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap; Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Andrea Sartorius; [2023-10-27]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : During late spring and most of the summer in the year of 2018 the weather in Sweden was more extreme than normal, with high temperatures and few rainfalls. This resulted in a drought, of which the effects were noticed all over the country. One of the noticeable effects was an earlier leaf abscission from trees. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Vibrational signals as indicators of soil fauna health? : A novel approach to environmental monitoring of ants

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Joel Fransson Forsberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Vibrations; Formica ants; Vibrometer; Vibrational signals; Imidacloprid; Before-After-Control-Impact;

    Sammanfattning : Soil fauna provides processes of crucial importance for ecosystem functions, but our ability to observe their actions often depend on destructive methods where the integrity of the studied environment (the soil) is compromised. In this study, I develop and test a new generation of environmental monitoring tools that utilize vibrations made by soil macrofauna to inform about their performance and health. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Detecting Pollutants Using Vibrations : Laser Doppler Vibrometry as a Non-Invasive Soil Organism Health Monitoring Method

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Kristoffer Wilson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Vibrometer; Biotremology; Imidacloprid; Ants;

    Sammanfattning : Due to a lack of in-situ methods capable of detecting sub-lethal effects of pollutants on soil organisms, many polluted environments are not identified prior to pollution-induced changes in the soil fauna. Therefore, there is a need to develop new non-invasive methods to measure the health of soil organisms. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Microplastics in Scanian wetlands : Sege river & Kävlinge river

    Kandidat-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för Urbana Studier (US)

    Författare :Ludvig Stoltz; Pernilla Leijon; [2023]
    Nyckelord :plastic pollution; wetlands; microplastics; Scania; density separation; plastföroreningar; våtmarker; mikroplaster; Skåne; flotteringsmetod;

    Sammanfattning : It is estimated that 75 million tons of plastics waste is currently in the ocean and expects to increase in line with plastic consumption. Plastic items in natural or aquatic environments are fragmented into smaller pieces called microplastics. Microplastics can enter rivers and lakes through sewage water to end up in wetlands where they sediment. LÄS MER
