  1. 1. On the Greek Physician Praxagoras from Kos and the Development of Medicαl Thinking in Antiquity

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Grekiska (antik och bysantinsk); Lunds universitet/Masterprogram: Språk och språkvetenskap

    Författare :Lars-Ove Farnebo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :artery ies - ἀρτηρία ι; humor s – χυμός χυμοί; innate - ἔμφυτος; nerve – νεῦρον; pneuma – πνεῦμα; pulse – σφυγμός; vessel s – φλέψ φλέβες.; Languages and Literatures;

    Sammanfattning : The Greek physician Praxagoras from Kos was active around year 300 BC. He represents the transition between the Hippocratic and the Hellenistic periods in medicine. Praxagoras was the teacher of several renowned physicians active during the 3rd century BC. Although he wrote many books nothing of his writing has survived to our time. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Phase Unwrapping MRI Flow Measurements

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen Vi3

    Författare :Mio Liljeblad; [2023]
    Nyckelord :phase unwrapping; computer vision; cine MRI; NMR; flow measurements; velocity encoding; venc; energy minimization; magnetic resonance; cardiac MRI; sinotubuar junction; pulmonary artery; ascending descending aorta; laplacian algorithm; iterative graph cuts; IGC; sequential tree-reweighted message passing; TRW-S; velocity to noise ratio; VNR; retrospective wrapping; energy formulation;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance images (MRI) are acquired by sampling the current of induced electromotiveforce (EMF). EMF is induced due to flux of the net magnetic field from coherent nuclear spins with intrinsic magnetic dipole moments. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Comparison of direct Fick's principle and thermodilution for calculating cardiac output in patients with pulmonary arterial hypertension.Does the assessment of cardiac index and pulmonary vascular resistance differ depending on which method is chosen?

    Master-uppsats, Örebro universitet/Institutionen för hälsovetenskaper

    Författare :Gabriella Persson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Pulmonary arterial hypertension; cardiac output; direct Fick´s principle; thermodilution;

    Sammanfattning : Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is an uncommon but serious disease that causes increased pressure in the pulmonary vessels and increased pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), which in turn leads to right heart failure. At diagnosis, mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) must be >20 mmHg, pulmonary artery wedge pressure (PAWP) ≤15 mmHg and PVR >2 Wood units (WU). LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mätning av cerebral blodflödeshastighet med transkraniell doppler under stegrat arbetsprov : Genomförbarhet och klinisk relevans

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Avdelningen för fysioterapi

    Författare :Emanuel Ahlgren; Jonathan Boogh; [2023]
    Nyckelord :trancranial doppler; cerebral bloodflow velocity; middle cerebral artery; bicycle ergometry tests; partial pressure end-tidal carbondioxide; transkraniell doppler; cerebral blodflödeshastighet; arteria cerebri media; ergometercykeltest; partialtryck end-tidal koldioxid;

    Sammanfattning : Bakgrund: Hjärnskakning är en vanlig diagnos och vissa patienter upplever att fysisk ansträngning utlöser symtom lång tid efter hjärnskakningen. En förändring i reglering av cerebralt blodflöde (CBF) har visats vara en potentiell orsak bakom detta. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Reconstruction of Accelerated Cardiovascular MRI data

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Statistik och maskininlärning

    Författare :Hussnain Khalid; [2023]
    Nyckelord :medical imaging; deep learning; CNN; Magnetic resonance imaging; MRI; Cardiac MRI; Cardiac; Cardiovascular; reconstruction; 4D flow MRI; Parallel Imaging; Compressed Sensing; FlowVN; Flow Variational Network; K-space; Reference images; sensitivity maps; Respiratory motion; undersampled images;

    Sammanfattning : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is a noninvasive medical imaging testing techniquewhich is used to produce detailed images of internal structure of the human body, includingbones, muscles, organs, and blood vessels. MRI scanners use large magnets and radiowaves to create images of the body. LÄS MER
