  1. 1. Single-molecule Imaging of the Cell Division Ring in Escherichia coli Using the ALFA-tag

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Tillämpad fysik

    Författare :Emma Westlund; [2023]
    Nyckelord :ALFA-tag; Escherichia coli; Divisome protein FtsZ; mEos3.2; Nanobodies; Nanotags; PALM; Plasmid transformation; sfGFP; Single-molecule Imaging; ALFA-tag; Escherichia coli; Divisomprotein FtsZ; mEos3.2; Nanokroppar; Nanotaggar; PALM; Plasmidtransformation; sfGFP; Enmolekyl-mikroskopi;

    Sammanfattning : The use of super-resolution (SR) microscopy is an important tool for understanding the inside mechanisms of bacterial cells. However, for SR imaging, the labelling of the proteins of interest is a great challenge as flourescent proteins (FPs) are often too big to be directly fused to the target protein and traditional immunolabelling with antibodies creates too long separation between the fluorophore and the target protein. 2. 2. Effect of the cell-growth rate on the invasion and infection efficacy of Trypanosoma cruzi trypomastigotes, and the potential cell-to-cell transfer of the parasite

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för medicinsk biokemi och mikrobiologi

    Författare :Elisa Escabia Herrando; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Trypanosoma cruzi; infection kinetics; cell-to-cell infection; cell-growth rate;

    Sammanfattning : Recent studies proposed that mammalian cell lines with slower growth rates were infected more efficiently by Trypanosoma cruzi, and that cell-to-cell transmission could be occurring during infection. This open the question of whether host cell-growth rate is a cellular characteristic influencing Trypanosoma cruzi invasion and infection. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Visualization of fluorescent Lactobacillus reuteri in milk using epifluorescence microscopy : a model study to investigate the distribution and affinity of L. reuteri in bovine milk fat fraction

    Kandidat-uppsats, SLU/Department of Molecular Sciences

    Författare :W.A. Guwanth Indramal Wanigasuriya; [2017]
    Nyckelord :Milk fat; Lactobacillus reuteri; raw milk; microbiota; fluorescence; microorganisms; bovine milk; fat globules;

    Sammanfattning : Microbiota composition and content in raw milk is diverse and crucial for the quality of milk as a raw material and subsequent processing. Investigation and identification of microbiota in raw milk is mainly performed based on molecular-based techniques, which are rapid and accurate. At present, defatted milk is used to isolate milk microbiota. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Lipid Bilayers on Planes and in Micropipettes - Two model systems to study binding of DivIVA to flat and negatively curved membranes

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysikalisk kemi; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen

    Författare :Elisabeth Baumann; [2016]
    Nyckelord :supported lipid bilayer; DivIVA; curvature; TIRF; FRAP; epifluorescence microscopy; micropipette; model system; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis work was to form and characterize model systems of cell membranes on planar supports and in micropipettes. Firstly, supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) were formed on glass slides after an existing experimental procedure. LÄS MER

  5. 5. En undersökning av sambandet mellan djurvälfärd och utsöndring av kryptosporidier hos unga kalvar i två besättningar

    Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Clinical Sciences

    Författare :Lena-Mari Tamminen; [2013]
    Nyckelord :Djurvälfärd; Kalv; Utsöndring; Kryptosporidier;

    Sammanfattning : Stress påverkar immunförsvaret och den fysiska hälsan samt individens välfärd och dess psykologiska hälsa men verkningsmekanismerna är fortfarande relativt outforskade. Det finns indikationer på att djur med lägre välfärd är mer stressade och därmed känsligare för infektion samt har svårare att göra sig av med infekterande agens än djur med högre välfärd. LÄS MER
