  1. 1. Decay Chains of Fast Alpha Emitters in the Actinide Region

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :Tanvir Sayed; [2024]
    Nyckelord :alpha decay; alpha emissions; fine structure; decay chain; decay scheme; alpha spectrometry; actinide; nucleus; nuclear structure; nuclear states; energy levels; uranium isotopes; U310 experiment; parasitic runs; decay station; TASISpec ; moving window deconvolution; digitisers; alpha-gamma coincidence; 221-Th decay; fine structure of alpha decay to 217-Ra; GSI; Gamow s theory; Geiger-Nuttall; chain search; short half-lives; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : With the advent of increasingly advanced spectroscopic instruments after the turn of the century, it has become accessible to unravel the structure of instantly ‘vanishing’ nuclei, with lifetimes as short as 1 μs, and responsible for pile-up events in analog electronics. Experimental data has been recorded by the Nuclear Structure Group at Lund University for 48Ca/50Ti + nat. LÄS MER

  2. 2. TROFISK ÖVERFÖRING OCH TOXISKA EFFEKTER AV (NANO-)PARTIKLAR FRÅN ELEKTRONISKT AVFALL

    Kandidat-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap; Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Elvira Hagman; [2023-06-22]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Today, nanoparticles (NPs) are being included in an increasing number of products, and with that comes the dispersion of NPs in the environment. However, the ecological impact of NPs remains largely unexplored, particularly in regards to real emissions with complex compositions of NPs and other pollutants. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The effect of recycling and processing routes on recrystallization in a secondary 3xxx aluminium alloy

    Master-uppsats, Jönköping University/JTH, Material och tillverkning

    Författare :Anton Rolseth; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Aluminium alloys; sheet metal forming; grain boundary segregation; recrystallization; Zener pinning; casting; rolling;

    Sammanfattning : Aluminium alloys have the possibility to be infinitely recycled. By only generating 5% of the emissions compared to primary aluminium, great CO2 savings can be made. One of the issues in manufacturing components entirely from post-consumer scrap is the presence of trace elements and impurities. Such elements can be Fe, Cu, Cr, P and Pb. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Reprocessing and Characterization of Polybenzimidazole for High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Centrum för analys och syntes

    Författare :Douglas Björkengren; [2023]
    Nyckelord :polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells; PEMFC; HTPEMFC; polymer technology; polymer characterization; reprocessing; recycling; polybenzimidazole; PBI; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : A reprocessing method of poly(2,2’-(m-phenylene)-5,5’-bibenzimidazole) (PBI) membranes recovered from the production line of High-Temperature Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cells (HT-PEMFC) at Blue World Technologies (BWT) has been developed in order to reduce material loss in the production. Redissolution of scrap PBI membranes in poly(phosphoric acid) (PPA) and phosphoric acid (PA) was successful and the subsequent washing procedure produced PBI that could be redissolved in N,N-dimethyl acetamide (DMAc) and suitable for solution casting of new membranes. 5. 5. Calibration and preparation of the data analysis of the DORN experiment on board the Chang'E 6 lunar mission.

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Íñigo de Loyola Chacartegui Rojo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Radon; lunar mission; alpha spectrometry; space instrumentation; performance testing and validation;

    Sammanfattning : As part of the first agreement between the French (CNES) and the Chinese (CNSA) space agencies in terms of space exploration, the DORN instrument will fly on board the Chinese Chang'E 6 mission in 2024. It aims to measure the amount of Radon escaping from the lunar soil to better understand what governs the concentration of this noble gas which contributes to the endogenous origin of the lunar exosphere.
