  1. 1. Decay Chains of Fast Alpha Emitters in the Actinide Region

    Magister-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysik

    Författare :Tanvir Sayed; [2024]
    Nyckelord :alpha decay; alpha emissions; fine structure; decay chain; decay scheme; alpha spectrometry; actinide; nucleus; nuclear structure; nuclear states; energy levels; uranium isotopes; U310 experiment; parasitic runs; decay station; TASISpec ; moving window deconvolution; digitisers; alpha-gamma coincidence; 221-Th decay; fine structure of alpha decay to 217-Ra; GSI; Gamow s theory; Geiger-Nuttall; chain search; short half-lives; Physics and Astronomy;

    Sammanfattning : With the advent of increasingly advanced spectroscopic instruments after the turn of the century, it has become accessible to unravel the structure of instantly ‘vanishing’ nuclei, with lifetimes as short as 1 μs, and responsible for pile-up events in analog electronics. Experimental data has been recorded by the Nuclear Structure Group at Lund University for 48Ca/50Ti + nat. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Climate Change Coverage and the Performance of Green and Brown Equities

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Nationalekonomiska institutionen

    Författare :Anton Flygare; Fredrik Tingets; [2023]
    Nyckelord :climate change; green investments; equities; sustainability; news; Business and Economics;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change has emerged as one of the world’s most pressing issues, a development that has prompted investors to shift their focus accordingly, catalysing a significant increase in green investments. This study is set against this backdrop, focusing on the performance of portfolios of European firms classified as low or high emission intensity – green or brown respectively – during an eight-year period, from January 2010 to June 2018. 3. 3. Calibration and preparation of the data analysis of the DORN experiment on board the Chang'E 6 lunar mission.

    Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för system- och rymdteknik

    Författare :Íñigo de Loyola Chacartegui Rojo; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Radon; lunar mission; alpha spectrometry; space instrumentation; performance testing and validation;

    Sammanfattning : As part of the first agreement between the French (CNES) and the Chinese (CNSA) space agencies in terms of space exploration, the DORN instrument will fly on board the Chinese Chang'E 6 mission in 2024. It aims to measure the amount of Radon escaping from the lunar soil to better understand what governs the concentration of this noble gas which contributes to the endogenous origin of the lunar exosphere. 4. 4. Is there a carbon emission-return relation? Exploring the existence of a carbon emission return relation in the Swedish stock market

    C-uppsats, Handelshögskolan i Stockholm/Institutionen för finansiell ekonomi

    Författare :Gustaf Kaddik; William Lundell; [2023]
    Nyckelord :emission premium; emission alpha; carbon emissions; emission intensity; stock returns;

    Sammanfattning : We use portfolio sorting and Fama-Macbeth regressions to investigate the potential relation between carbon emissions and stock returns in the Swedish stock market, a country with stringent carbon regulations and taxes. We research the Swedish stock market between 2010-2019 and do not find evidence of such a relationship. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of methods for detection of radioactive aerosols of special importance for the ESS facility

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematik

    Författare :Martin Carlström; [2021]
    Nyckelord :alpha spectrometry; radioactive aerosols; spectrum simulation;

    Sammanfattning : With the construction of the European Spallation Source (ESS) steadily approaching the operational phase, an environmental monitoring program will soon be implemented with the purpose of monitoring emissions. With regard to radiation safety, it is highly important to monitor alpha emitting radionuclides in aerosol form. LÄS MER
