Two theories, the Cultural backlash theory and the Economic insecurity thesis, traditionally used to explain the rise of right-wing populist parties, are applied to identify factors influencing trust.     Sammanfattning : We use portfolio sorting and Fama-Macbeth regressions to investigate the potential relation between carbon emissions and stock returns in the Swedish stock market, a country with stringent carbon regulations and taxes. We research the Swedish stock market between 2010-2019 and do not find evidence of such a relationship. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : What significance does the public discourse have for today’s democracies? And how are arguments for different policy proposals presented and included in this public discourse? In this study I investigate the effects of the Swedish commissions of inquiry on the public deliberative discourse by analysing the contents of journals and newspaper articles. The lack of previous research on this topic meant that I had to create a new theoretical framework of what a commission of inquiry must achieve to contribute to the deliberative public discourse.
