1. Exploring the factors affecting tree establishment after wildfire in a boreal forest in Sweden
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildningSammanfattning : The factors affecting tree establishment in boreal forests after fire will help determine the community composition of the regenerating forest. These may have large consequences on the community dynamics for years after the fire disturbance. LÄS MER
2. Evaluation of Tree Planting using Computer Vision models YOLO and U-Net
Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för datavetenskapSammanfattning : Efficient and environmentally responsible tree planting is crucial to sustainable land management. Tree planting processes involve significant machinery and labor, impacting efficiency and ecosystem health. In response, Södra Skogsägarna introduced the BraSatt initiative to develop an autonomous planting vehicle called E-Beaver. LÄS MER
3. Effects on natural seed regenerated Silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) and Downey birch (Betula pubescens Ehrh) by mechanical soil scarification and environmental factors : påverkan på naturligt fröföryngrad Glasbjörk (Betula pubescens Ehrh) och Hängbjörk (Betula pendula Roth) av mekanisk markberedning och omgivande faktorer
Master-uppsats, SLU/Dept. of Forest Ecology and ManagementSammanfattning : The awareness of forest biodiversity as well as the demand for a higher proportion of deciduous tree species in Swedish forests increases. As such, focus is shifting towards the management of naturally seed regenerated Silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) and Downey birch (Betula pubescens Ehrh). LÄS MER
4. The Combined Influences of Canopy Openness, Browsing Protection, and Low Intensity Fire on the Natural Regeneration of Oak in Southern Sweden
Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : Whilst oak was historically prevalent in the landscape of temperate Europe, changes in the disturbance regime of forests have led to limited regeneration across its distribution. In this study, the fire oak hypothesis is tested to assess the tolerance of Quercus robur and Quercus petraea recruits (seedlings and saplings) to a low intensity burn, and how this response may differ depending on the presence of browsing and canopy openness. 5. Hybrid walnut : results from a five year field trial in southwest Sweden 2015-2020
Master-uppsats, SLU/Southern Swedish Forest Research CentreSammanfattning : A crossbreeding between american black walnut and Persian walnut lead to the development of a hybrid walnut (Juglans x intermedia). In a field trial from southwest Sweden have been tested the impact of different levels of nurse trees, fertilization and weed control on the early growth of two hybrid walnut varieties: NG23 and NG38.
