1. Machine Learning for Pulse Shape Analysis of Heavy Ions
Magister-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Tillämpad kärnfysikSammanfattning : Most of the Generation IV nuclear reactors designs are intended to operate with a fast neutron spectrum. This necessitates further investigation into nuclear fuel behaviour because fast neutrons yield a higher neutron multiplicity with fission fragments, significantly impacting the criticality assessment of these reactors. 2. Developments Towards High-Resolution Muonic Atom X-ray Spectroscopy of Low-Z Elements : For precision measurements of absolute nuclear charge radii
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : This Master's thesis investigates a method to measure atomic nuclei with record precision using muonic atom X-ray spectroscopy. In particular, 6Li is measured experimentally. The method used is independent from the previous most precise measurement of the 6Li nuclear charge radius which uses electron scattering. LÄS MER
3. Silicon Drift Detector Simulations for Energy-Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy in Scanning Electron Microscopy
Master-uppsats, Stockholms universitet/FysikumSammanfattning : Scanning Electron Microscopy combined with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) is a widely applied elemental microanalysis method. The integration of silicon drift detectors (SDDs) has notably enhanced EDS performance, enabling precise elemental identification due to its large sensitive area and low output capacitance. LÄS MER
4. Characterisation of the LYCCA Double-Sided Silicon Strip Detectors
Kandidat-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/Partikel- och kärnfysikSammanfattning : The goal of this thesis work is to describe the methods used and perform comprehensive testing of the Double-Sided Silicon-Strip Detectors (DSSD) prior to their implementation in the Lund-York-Cologne CAlorimeter (LYCCA) detector. In the framework of this project, the DSSD characterisation was carried out to ensure specification compliance prior to their "in-kind contribution" delivery to the HISPEC experiment at the NUSTAR collaboration. 5. Characterization of Bi-incorporated InSb(111)A/B Surfaces : An STM and XPS Study
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : In recent years, III-V semiconductor materials have received increasing attention due to their admirable electronic properties like direct tunable bandgaps and high charge carrier mobility. Indium Antimonide (InSb) possesses the largest electron mobility among III-V materials and is promising for infrared detectors, high-speed field effect transistors, and spintronics. LÄS MER
