  1. 6. Land cover changes in Southern Sweden from the mid-Holocene to present day: insights for ecosystem service assessments

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap

    Författare :Robert O'Dwyer; [2019]
    Nyckelord :Geography; Geographical Information Systems; GIS; Physical Geography; Götaland; Landscape Reconstruction Algorithm; Fossil Pollen; Ecosystem Services; Earth and Environmental Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Climate change and human impact play a huge role in the sustainability and development of ecosystems and the services they offer to societies over temporal and spatial scales. Fossil pollen-based estimates provide unique information on past land cover change, but to date there are not many methods able to create spatially continuous maps and have a fine scale of land cover changes inferred from pollen information. 2. 7. Morphological characterization of neural tissue microstructure using the orientationally-averaged diffusion MRI signal

    Master-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Avdelningen för medicinsk teknik

    Författare :Iulian Emil Tampu; [2019]
    Nyckelord :MRI; diffusion MRI; orientationally-averaged signal; powder-signal; microstructure;

    Sammanfattning : Diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) is a powerful tool for thecharacterisation of neural tissue microstructural features. The role of neural projectioncurvature on the diffusion signal was recently studied for three temporal regimes of the diffusion pulse sequence in search for a description of the different decay trends in the orientationally-averaged diffusion signal reported in in vivo human studies. 3. 8. Temporal och spatial variation för pH och relaterade parametrar i Bastuån, Jämtland

    Kandidat-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Albin Enetjärn; [2018]
    Nyckelord :acidification; stream water chemistry; landscape variability; flow regimes;

    Sammanfattning : Anthropogenic emissions of acidifying substances, mainly sulfur dioxide, during the second half of the 20th century caused a widespread acidification of many European freshwater environments. Even relatively remote areas, such as inland northern Sweden, experienced reduced pH-values, much due to low buffering capacity in the environment. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Drilling for time: ice cores and the synchronization of temporalities in glaciology, 1935-1978

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för idé- och lärdomshistoria

    Författare :Erik Isberg; [2018]
    Nyckelord :ice cores; Arctic science; temporalities; Environmental humanities; climate modelling; history of science; Willi Dansgaard; Anthropocene; synchronization; temporal regimes; Cultural Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : Since their emergence in the 1950’s, ice cores have ventured from being scientific objects of concern to a limited number of glaciologists to becoming one of the most iconic representations of anthropogenic climate change. This thesis aims to historicize the way in which ice cores became enrolled into climate discourse, particularly emphasizing the production and representation of temporalities of the global climate that the ice cores made possible. 5. 10. Online Regime Switching Vector Autoregression Incorporating Spatio-temporal Aspects for Short Term Wind Power Forecasting

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Elkraftteknik

    Författare :Sean Gilleran; [2017]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This master thesis examines short term wind power forecasting time series models focusing on regimes conditioned to meteorological conditions and the incorporation of spatio-temporal aspects. Novel regime switching autoregressive and vector autoregressive models are proposed, implemented in a .NET framework, and evaluated. LÄS MER
