Sammanfattning: The starting point for the modern pornography that exists today was after the first Playboy magazine was released. The rapid spread showed that there was a market for this. The purpose of this paper is to highlight the debate on pornography in Sweden. The survey is done through a content analysis that will analyze eighteen different articles. The theories that are used are Andrea Dworkins theory on pornography and censorship and Andrew Altmans theory on pornography and the debate surrounding this subject. These articles will also be analyzed based on some analytical questions. The analytical questions are: Is it censorship to regulate pornography? Can one say that pornography itself is violence or is it an expression of violence? The questions that have been answered are: What themes can one distinguish in the debate on pornography in Swedish daily press between the years 2015 and 2018? What are the answers to the analytical questions if we take into consideration the debate on pornography in Swedish daily press and the chosen theories? The themes I could find in the current debate on pornography were the regulation of pornography, physical-, psychological- and sexual violence, reference to research, feminism and education and violence prevention. One of the analytical questions was "Is it censorship that rules pornography?" And the result was that YES technically, if you look at the Swedish law, but not if you are comparing to Andrea Dworkin's theory. The second analytical issue was about if pornography itself is violence or an expression of violence. Here the result is that it depends entirely on what you include when talking about pornography. If you speak only of the videos themselves then pornography is only an expression of violence (violence pornography). If, on the other hand, you look at the industry as a whole, pornography is in itself violence since it is very common for woman in the industry to be subjected to sexual violence.
