Att vilja vara medskapare av sin egen kulturella kontext. : En intervjustudie av öppna samarbeten – ett alternativ i en samtid i kris?

Sammanfattning: This study aims to examine how participants in open collaborations and in creations of Commons understand and motivate their work, but also how they perceive the possibilities and contradictions related to developing of these practices. The study is based on six indepth interviews with individuals who have participated in a number of organizations that apply this form of cultural production. The results show that what makes participation meaningful is that the activities are experienced either as ’pleasurable and fun to take part in’, or that they are considered ’important from a social perspective’. The results also suggest that the experiences of meaningfulness, and subjective well-being, are closely related the respondents’ wishes to be active co-creators of their cultural context. The respondents furthermore argue that the possibilities for participating in the reproduction of their own cultural context are often limited, or even discouraged, by restrictive legislation or social norms.
