Sammanfattning: Purpose The master thesis highlights improvements potentials that exist in the Psychiatric ER in Stockholm County and the resource-saving measures that can be realized in the medical logistics through by producing a simulation model of the system. Methodology In order to fulfill the purpose of the master thesis qualitative methods such as interviews has been used successfully. To make the simulation model used Law’s seven step model has been. The results of the simulation model was then interpreted and analyzed. Theoretical framework Required theoretical framework on relevant areas such as statistical distributions, statistical modeling of data, processes and models that are applicable in the area and supports the simulation model and the analysis has been obtained and presented. Empirical findings The chapter with empirical findings aims to provide a basic visualization of the Stockholm County Psychiatric ER from a process perspective. The medical aspects are omitted to the extent possible. Empirical data were the collected to obtain a clear picture of how the simulation model was developed and can be used. Conclusion Simulation is a powerful tool for studying the processes of the Psychiatric ER. Existing data can advantageously be modeled. By these means it is easier for the ER to highlight relevant indicators. Process efficiency can be reached on the basis of an ABC/XYZ classification.
