Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för hälsa och lärande

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to describe the lives of women who are living with vestibulitis. 13% of women aged 20-29 suffer from vestibulitis and studies show that vestibulitis increase. A narrative analysis with qualitative approach was used. This is done by reviewing a number of blogs written by women who are suffering from this disease. A selection of seven different blogs that matched the studies criteria’s where chosen for review. One advantage by reviewing written text in a narrative form is that they often describe the situation very accurately and in great detail. The analysis of these texts where done jointly by the authors which strengthens the reliability of the results.   This study shows that women handle their pain and suffering differently. The major difference in outcome however, lies in what kind of support and healthcare they receive. And the results differ from handling their disease and life situation quite well, to having issues finding comfort and even meaning with life. Women who are suffering from vestibulitis express feelings of loneliness, depression and hopelessness. Low self-esteem, physical and mental exhaustion and relationship issues are also common among women suffering from vestibulitis.
