Beddinge Havsbad

Sammanfattning: My thesis was initiated in a face where I had a chosen site which I feel both love and hate towards. This paradox motivated me to form a future plan for this place. The love I feel lays in a form of projected memory of a place which today not feels more then just an abandoned place. In a landscape, approximately 70 meters from the water in a seaside village in the south of Skåne, the old restaurant of Pärlan stands empty. With a location which since the 1930s have formed a point of connection for both inhabitants and guests of Beddingestrand and villages close by. I have chosen to begin with the building that stands today, a traditional brick characterized building from the 1950s. To understand this building I have analysed its form, context and relevant precedents from the region it originates in. The analysis have later on been used as a basis for the design of the future ocean meeting point of Beddingestrand. A plan with the ambition of giving the visitor a stronger connection to surrounding nature. Preferably all months of the year.
