Vi och Dom Andra : En semiotisk bildanalys av svenska nyhetsbilders representation av immigranter

Sammanfattning: This study is a semiotic analysis of the representation of immigrants in five of the biggest printed Swedish newspapers pictures. The pictures are analysed from the theoretical perspective of social constructivism and representation. Ten pictures are semiotically analysed from these theoretical perspectives to find out how immigrants are represented in the Swedish newspapers. The study concludes that the representation of immigrants in Swedish newspapers pictures is generally negative and that reports on immigrants almost always have a negative tone or undertone.
