Fängslande ord Om genusgörande i BUP-socionomers psykosociala utredningar

Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för socialt arbete

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to examine how girls and boys are described by social workers in psycho-social assessments in child and adolescent psychiatry. The questions at issue were if girls and boys are described in different ways and if gender related patterns could be found. The study was both qualitative and quantitative. I used textual analysis as a method and discourse analysis as theory. Results: Sexes were generally described differently. Girls are depicted from how they are and how they look and boys are described by what they do and their behaviour. The mother is described as the person who is most responsible for children of both sexes. She is also the one who is bringing the children for treatment at BUP and the one telling the children’s story. The father is often described as absent or seen as only a complement in the children’s life. The study shows that there is a stereo typical view of gender in psycho social assessments.
