Medeltida trädörrar - en undersökning av medeltida kyrkdörrars konstruktion och utformning

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Göteborgs universitet/Institutionen för kulturvård

Sammanfattning: In Sweden, there are only ten medieval churches in log construction that are preserved or partially preserved. All medieval parts of the churches are described in detail in the two books of Medeltida trädörrar 1 och 2, but have only brief and simple descriptions of the construction of the doors. Knowledge of this everyday, but at the same time, fundamental building detail is deficient but very important in the face of renewed care programs, planning and restoration efforts. Detailed studies of the medieval wooden portals are needed to understand how they were made. The purpose of the thesis is to examen the construction and design of nine medieval, wooden church doors and through a comparative study see similarities and differences between the doors. The different parts that have been investigated and compared are: design, constructions and possible, used techniques. The church doors are also compared with four profane doors from a previous thesis by Catharina Asph. The results of this study are a comprehensive and thorough measurement of nine medieval wooden doors. The deeper knowledge of the construction of the doors can contribute to maintenance and/or restorations. As well as highlighting similarities and differences that can contribute to discussion and further investigations and analyzes.
