Konceptutveckling av en portabel skjutbana

Sammanfattning: This report describes a product development project for a bachelor’s degree in innovation technology and design. The project was carried out by student Jacob Runnquist during spring 2023 at Karlstad University and comprises 22,5 hp. The project was commissioned by the company Invencon. The goal was to develop a functional concept for a portable shooting range that is easy to assemble, disassemble and transport. The purpose of the project was to create a concept for a portable shooting range that balances sustainability, user-friendliness, quality, and price. The product aims to enable shooting to take place on private property instead of having to go to a stationary shooting range. This would have a positive impact on the environment by reducing emissions from round trips to and from the stationary shooting range. In the long run, it would also be more cost-effective as it would avoid expenses for gasoline and entry fees to the stationary shooting range. As the product is adjustable in terms of height and speed, it is suitable for a larger user group. The product development process followed the following phases: project planning, preliminary study, requirements specification, concept generation, concept selection, construction, and project compilation. The result of this project is a concept proposal for a portable shooting range made of Hardox 600 material, designed similar to a gondola lift. The concept consists of four major parts, which are a block, two sleeves, and a holder for the target. Additionally, there are smaller parts such as plates, wire block, rivets, and more. The portable shooting range is adjustable both before and during use. Before use, the target height can be adjusted, and during use, the target speed can be adjusted. Assembling the portable shooting range does not require any special tools, and there are not many parts that need to be assembled. The concept is presented through sketches, CAD designs, and several different models and prototypes in various scales.
