Sammanfattning: Our aim of this bachelor was that trough qualitative semi structured interviews enlighten the experiences, understanding and knowledge of social workers’ sessions with people suffering from dementia. These five social workers we interviewed were currently active in dementia care within Region Skåne. We found out how the social workers describe their intentions in having sessions and how they experience the sessions. We also found out how the social workers understood the importance of the sessions for the person suffering from dementia and how the social workers discussed their experiences surrounding the sessions. Our study shows how social workers in sessions with people suffering from dementia keep focus on the healthy abilities of these people. We have come to the conclusion that the social workers also intend to increase the persons KASAM through comprehensibility, manageability and meaningfulness in their support to the individual suffering from dementia. We have also come to the conclusion that the social workers in every way tries to reach the person with dementia to increase their well- being. If this is not possible the social workers do not proceed having sessions with the person suffering from dementia.
