Detta är en M1-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to explore experiences of a group-based mindfulness intervention for patients with psychosis, changes in mindfulness and acceptance after this intervention and possible connections with practice between sessions. Earlier studies have shown promising results with mindfulness-based interventions for patients with psychosis. Our study included five participants of a total of twelve in the treatment group. The group received an eight week course in mindfulness, modified for psychosis. The participants were assessed at baseline and after finishing the program. The measures used were Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) and Acceptance and Action Questionnaire (AAQ-II). The participants of the study were given forms for daily registration of practice between the group sessions. The participants were interviewed about their experiences of the course after finishing, and evaluated the course’s meaningfulness on a VAS-scale. The results showed minor improvements in acceptance and mindfulness for the two participants who had been practicing, one participant showed reliable change in the FFMQ wholescale and on the subscale non-reactivity. The interview and VAS-scale showed a high level of satisfaction regarding the perceived value, usefulness and meaningfulness of the course.
