Vem ska beskyddas mest? - Konflikten mellan kyrkogårdens särskilt skyddsvärda träd och säkerheten för besökare, personal och föremål

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

Sammanfattning: Old trees in cemeteries are often designated trees with "high conservation value" (in Swedish: särskilt skyddsvärda träd), which means that they are important for biodiversity. The Swedish Environmental Protection Agency has created an action plan to conserve those valuable trees in the Swedish culture landscape to preserve, for example, red listed species (often insects, lichens, mosses and fungi). The managers of cemeteries often wish to remove such trees of safety reasons. This is the conflict that this analysis attempts to explain and solve. This study is based on written papers and several oral and written interviews implemented by my own. The essay is introduced by a briefing of the background to generate an understanding of the different sides of the conflict. The main conclusion is that there is a lack of communication between the different authorities, which makes it difficult to understand eachother. The results can be generalized and ideally can help interested parties retain clarity and a more nuanced understanding in this complicated conflict.
