Sammanfattning: This report is part of the formation of an art relation to craft. It is a presentation of how an art process can be viewed when founded in the characteristics of hot forging. It is a description of the traits and characteristics of the material and how these are used intuitively through craftsmanship and how this drives the artistic work forward. How the artwork is characterized with its’ inherent traits, is described as used through intuitive craftsmanship formation which drives the art work forward. The artwork has an intention to examine and shape something which in the beginning was not possible to verbalize. It is done through a circular movement between the shaping of the hands, the characteristics of the material, the human senses, human experiences, interpretation of these experiences, which is brought back to the shaping of the hands. The report is discussing the foundation consisting of claims formulated into two preliminary works, in addition to the practical experiences gained from the project. The discussion is focused around different artistic and aesthetic qualities and how these through the material and the techniques used, have arisen. The practical work this discussion is ground in, is founded in the artistic relation examined, which has resulted in three hot forged forms, which all get their expression through the hot forging characteristics effect on iron. These forms are framed and ended by thin, colorful, thread frames. The three forms constitute a series on the theme “Man” where the aim is to shape different parts in human beings.
