Vi behöver människor - hälso- och sjukvårdens kuratorers berättelser under en pandemi

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study has been to investigate how the psychosocial work with children, teens, and their families in health care in Skåne has been affected by the pandemic. In this study nine qualitative interviews were conducted with nine child counsellors in Skåne. Rosa Hartmut's social acceleration, together with parts of professional theory were used as theoretical starting points to analyse these results. The main findings were that the psychosocial work in health care meets both challenges and opportunities through new technology and changed working methods. The study shows how digital communication can be useful during a pandemic and works complementary to the physical meeting. However, the study also shows that the digital meeting cannot live up to the quality of physical meeting, due to the lack of crucial non-verbal communication. Furthermore, the study reported that there was concern that the work of the health care counsellor would develop in a negative direction because of demands for new ways of working. A concern that digital communication and the absence of physical contact in health care would persist after the end of the pandemic. There were also ideas that external actors would go in and direct the health care counsellor’s work. The persistent effects after the pandemic should be investigated in future studies.
