  1. 1. Hormonal Influence on the Proliferation Potential of C17.2 Neuronal Progenitor Cells

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Alexander Mangano; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The brain is arguably the most complex organ of the body: Controlling muscles, maintaining homeostasis, processing information. It has the longest developmental period of any organ, and hormones are essential during its development. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Impact of BPA, BPF and Mixture N1 on DNA-Methylation of GRIN2B and NR3C1 during human neuroprogenitor cell differentiation

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning; Uppsala universitet/Fysiologi och miljötoxikologi

    Författare :Franziska Sophie Richter; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Epigenetics; Endocrine disrupting chemicals; DNA methylation; EDCs; Mixture effects; BPA; BPF; Mixture N1;

    Sammanfattning : Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are ubiquitous and their adverse impact on nature, wildlife and humans is extensively researched. We are constantly exposed to EDCs, such as the widespread and extensively researched Bisphenol A, as well as its substitute Bisphenol F, which is coming into wider use, even though it is much less is researched and limited information is available about its endocrine effects. 3. 3. An Investigation of The Link Between Endocrine Disruption and Developmental Neurotoxicity Induced by Environmental Pollutants : In Zebrafish Embryos

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för cell- och molekylärbiologi; Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Maria Revenikioti; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Endocrine-disrupting chemical EDC ; Environmental pollutants; Endocrine disruption ED ; Developmental neurotoxicity DNT ; Development; Zebrafish embryos; Estradiol; DHT; BPF; PFOS.;

    Sammanfattning : Endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) are known to cause endocrine disruption (ED), developmental neurotoxicity (DNT), infertility and impaired embryo development. EDCs do therefore impose a threat to humans, wildlife and the environment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. EFFECT OF ENDOCRINE DISRUPTING MIXTURES AND CHEMICALS ON THE OXYGEN CONSUMPTION RATE OF ZEBRAFISH LARVAE

    Master-uppsats, Göteborgs universitet / Institutionen för biologi och miljövetenskap

    Författare :Lieke van Iersel; [2022-08-08]
    Nyckelord :oxygen consumption; zebrafish larvae; respirometry; endocrine disrupting chemicals; mixture toxicity;

    Sammanfattning : Chemicals affecting the endocrine system, so called endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC’s), have been steadily increasing in the environment over the last 40 years. EDCs are harmful chemicals since they can act through multiple endocrine pathways, contain a wide spectrum of health effects that can be very persistent and can cause effects already at a low doses. 5. 5. Analysis of DNA methylation changes and behavioural outcomes in adulthood induced by prenatal exposure to a mixture of endocrine disrupting chemicals

    Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning

    Författare :Shane Kamil; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Toxicology; Developmental biology; Epigenetics; Genetics; Methylation; EDC; Toxins; Chemicals; Mixture effect; Mediation; Toxikologi; Utvecklingsbiologi; Epigenetik; Genetik; Metylering; Miljögifter;

    Sammanfattning : Endocrine disrupting chemicals, or EDCs, are some of the most prevalent toxic chemicals found in the environment because of human activity and they have a variety of adverse effects on both humans and wildlife. A proposed mechanism through which EDCs can negatively affect an organism is via an epigenetic mechanism known as DNA methylation, which can affect the development of the organism with negative outcomes later in life.
