  1. 16. Carbon Accounting and SeaweedOffsets : An overview of some current carbon accounting methodologiesand the emerging sector of seaweed carbon offsets

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Hållbar utveckling, miljövetenskap och teknik

    Författare :Alice Rudberg; [2023]
    Nyckelord :carbon accounting; carbon offsets; carbon credits; blue carbon; seaweed offsets; climate mitigation; sustainability; klimatkompensering; klimatberäking; begränsning av klimatförändringar; alger; tång; hållbarhet;

    Sammanfattning : As the anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) have increased and received moreattention, the need for climate mitigation solutions has become more urgent. Today, several methodologies for carbon accounting exists, as well as the possibility to offset emissions by buying carbon offsets. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Is two stage GAC better than one stage GAC for removing PFAS at a DWTP? : Investigation of PFAS removal from drinking water using two stage granular activated carbon (GAC) filter

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för geovetenskaper

    Författare :Oliver Ekesiöö; [2023]
    Nyckelord :GAC; PFAS; drinking water treatment; two stage GAC;

    Sammanfattning : The removal of 34 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) were compared in a 1 stagegranular activated carbon (GAC) filtration to a 2 stage GAC filtration in a pilot study at adrinking water treatment plant (DWTP). The PFASs that were present in the water wereperfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluoropentanoic acid(PFPeA), perfluorohexanoic acid (PFHxA), perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA), perfluorobutanesulfonic acid (PFBS), perfluoropentane sulfonic acid (PFPeS) and perfluorohexane sulfonic acid(PFHxS). 3. 18. Improved Energy Benchmarking of Supermarkets Buildings

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för industriell teknik och management (ITM)

    Författare :Sahar Shaghiasl; [2023]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Amongst commercial spaces, supermarkets are the most energy intensive building and the presence of these building is expected to rise. Therefore, the study of energy efficiency and the impact of supermarket on environment is the important areas which needs a lot of research. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Faradaic Reactions in Capacitive Deionization : A Comparison of Desalination Performance in Flow-through Cell Architectures

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)

    Författare :John Bradley; Miranda Carlström; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Capacitive deionization; Faradaic reactions; Flow-through CDI; Upstream anode; Downstream anode; Desalination Performance; pH fluctuations;

    Sammanfattning : Capacitive Deionization (CDI) is an energy-efficient desalination technology that utilizes an electric field to extract ions from water. Flow-through CDI systems show potential for superior desalination performance compared to traditional flow-by CDI; however, they face the challenge of increased occurrence of Faradaic reactions, leading to undesired by-products and reduced energy efficiency. 5. 20. Evaluation of SLAM based mobile laser scanning and terrestrial laser scanning in the Kiruna mine : A comparison between the Emesent Hovermap HF1 mobile laser scanner and the Faro Laser Scanner Focus3D X 330 terrestrial laser scanner

    Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Gävle/Samhällsbyggnad

    Författare :Claes Gustafsson; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Terrestrial laser scanning; mobile laser scanning; simultaneous localization and mapping; underground mapping; Kiruna mine.;

    Sammanfattning : The mining industry has over the last few decades seen a drastic increase in the usage of laser scanning technologies as a way of creating 3D maps of the mines being exploited. Underground mapping in places such as mines has become more prevalent as the technology has progressed and made it easier to generate highly detailed point clouds faster. LÄS MER
