  1. 1. Evaluation of strategies for construction of protease libraries in yeast.

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Teknisk mikrobiologi; Lunds universitet/Bioteknik

    Författare :Sidharth Jaya Sankar; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Yeast; GFP-fusion technology; protease; applied microbiology; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Proteases are a group of enzymes that are involved in breaking down larger proteins into smaller polypeptides or single amino acids, and they are used in various applications. In this project, the potential of budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae as host for the construction of protease libraries is evaluated. LÄS MER

    Författare :Ellinor Lindholm; [2018]
    Nyckelord :glycoconjugates; glycolipids; integral membrane proteins; gangliosides; glucosylceramide synthase; dolicholphosphate mannose synthase; cancer; neuroblastoma; congenital disorders of glycosylation; glykokonjukat; glykolipider; membranprotein; gangliosider; glukosylceramidsyntas; dolicholfosfat mannossyntas; cancer; neuroblastom; medfdd glykosyleringssjukdom;

    Sammanfattning : Glycolipids play important roles in the biology of prokaryotes and eukaryotes, including humans, and although theyare found on the cell-membrane surface of all eukaryotic cells, not much is known about their biosynthesis. The aim ofthis project was to characterize two enzymes: glucosylceramide synthase (GCS) which is involved in the biosynthesisof glycolipids such as gangliosides that are abundant in the membranes of nerve cells; and dolicholphosphate mannosesynthase (DPMS), involved in the synthesis precursor for protein glycosylation.
