By comparing a selection of Korean dramas with Anglo-American TV series and films, I want to examine possible similarities and differences in the character representation, emotional expressions and philosophies of the stories, as well as how these may be grounded in different cultural structures.    Sammanfattning : This essay investigates, using semiotic deconstruction, how Korean TV fiction dramas signify gay men in the contrasting of a designated 'normal' that effectively communicates heteronormativity as "myth" obscuring other ‘alternative’ ways of life.
