1. Continuous Quantum Control of Quantum Dot Systems
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Matematisk fysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Control and feedback operation of quantum systems have in recent years gained a lot of interest since they are fundamental to achieving functional quantum information processing systems but also of great importance in applications of information to energy conversion within quantum thermodynamics. This thesis has treated a new formalism for feedback control of quantum systems. LÄS MER
2. Geometry Dependent Optimal Bounds of Absorption and Scattering Cross-section for Small Nanoparticles
Master-uppsats, Linnéuniversitetet/Institutionen för fysik och elektroteknik (IFE)Sammanfattning : Light-matter interaction in particles of subwavelength size mostly depends on the size, shape, composition of the particles and relies on the properties of incident light. Henceforth, resonant behavior of light can be effectively controlled by changing the aforesaid geometrical parameters. LÄS MER
3. Finite Difference Approximations for Wave Propagation
Kandidat-uppsats, Linköpings universitet/Tillämpad matematik; Linköpings universitet/Tekniska fakultetenSammanfattning : Finite difference approximations are methods for solving differential equations by approximating derivatives. This work will begin with how to solve a partial differential equation (PDE) called the advection equation, ut + cux = 0. LÄS MER
4. Electrodynamic field at spatial infinity
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The treatment of spatial infinity is one of the remaining major open problems in the theory of isolated self-gravitating systems. Especially when one wants to model scattering of gravitational radiation in spacetime. In this thesis the conformal theory is used to study simple electromagnetic fields, close to spatial infinity. 5. On the Interaction Between Electromagnetic, Gravitational, and Plasma Related Perturbations on LRS Class II Spacetimes
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för fysikSammanfattning : In this thesis, we investigate the interaction between electromagnetic, gravitational, and plasma related perturbations on homogeneous and hypersurface orthogonal Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) class II spacetimes. By using these spacetimes, which allow for the inclusion of a non-zero magnetic field, as backgrounds in a perturbative approach, we are able to see interactions between the electromagnetic and gravitational variables already to first order in the perturbations.
