1. Brain morphometry in Parkinson’s disease
Master-uppsats,Sammanfattning : Abstract Purpose The purpose of this brain morphometry study was to examine the volumes of different regions of the brain by research participants with Parkinson’s disease. Method To carry out the study, MR (magnetic resonance) images from 956 research participants from the Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) were used. LÄS MER
2. Gray matter alterations in individuals with PTSD compared to controls : A systematic review
Kandidat-uppsats, Högskolan i Skövde/Institutionen för biovetenskapSammanfattning : This systematic review aims to investigate the alterations in gray matter volume (GMV) observed in the brains of individuals diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through the Clinical Administered PTSD scale (CAPS) using Voxel-Based Morphometry (VBM) as a method. PTSD is diagnosed when an individual meets all the criteria for PTSD as defined by the DSM, which includes having experienced or witnessed a traumatic event, experiencing intrusive symptoms such as flashbacks or nightmares, avoiding triggers related to the trauma, experiencing negative changes in mood and cognition, and experiencing changes in arousal and reactivity. 3. Computer-Aided Characterization of Lung - Segmentation and Vessel Tree Analysis Algorithms for Clinical Research Applications
Master-uppsats, KTH/FysikSammanfattning : The initial stage of a lung examination involves the segmentation of a CT image, a process that has been put under a lot of pressure with the high demand for chest scans and accurate segmentations. Current automatic segmentation algorithms are either non-robust for different datasets, not easily accessible, or time-consuming. LÄS MER

5. Effects of early life exposure to flutamide on sexual development in Xenopus tropicalis
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för biologisk grundutbildning; Uppsala universitet/MiljötoxikologiSammanfattning : While endocrine disrupting chemicals have become a serious concern in human and environmental toxicology, many of the methods used for investigating developmental toxicity require long exposure periods, and thus can be technically challenging, labour intensive and expensive. For example, the current standard method, the Larval Amphibian Growth and Development Assay (LAGDA) has an exposure period of ³130 days. LÄS MER
