  1. 6. Mercury accumulation in lake sediments on different time scales – the influence of algal primary production

    Master-uppsats, Umeå universitet/Institutionen för ekologi, miljö och geovetenskap

    Författare :Anne Rebotzke; [2023]
    Nyckelord :mercury; lake sediment; primary productivity; algal scavenging; biogenic silica; diatom proxy; chlorophyll-a; organic matter;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this work is to test the proposed approach of algal scavenging as a driver of sediment mercury (Hg) on different time scales and to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms of Hg accumulation in lake sediments. A 3000-year sediment record from Nylandssjön in northern Sweden was analysed for this purpose, as well as a 20-year sediment record from the seasonal sediment traps of this lake. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Development and Optimization of Near-infrared spectroscopy

    M1-uppsats, Högskolan i Borås/Akademin för textil, teknik och ekonomi

    Författare :Amanda Hahlin; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Near-infrared spectroscopy; NIRS; Textile sorting; Principal component analysis; PCA; Post-consumer end-of-life textiles;

    Sammanfattning : With the growing demand for sustainable options, the existing sorting capacities are limiting the potential for fiber-to-fiber recycling. With the help of near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), automated sorting of textiles with high accuracy is possible due to the easy access for polymer identification. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Prediction of Plastic Fragments in Recycled Paper Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Fakulteten för hälsa, natur- och teknikvetenskap (from 2013)

    Författare :Fidan Alieva; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Near-infrared spectroscopy; paper packaging; barrier materials; recycling; multivariate data analysis; Nära-infraröd spektroskopi; pappersförpackningar; barriärmaterial; återvinning; multivariat dataanalys;

    Sammanfattning : Sustainability has gained a lot of attention in the field of research. Researchers and consumers both prioritize sustainability and environmental issues over previously dominant materials, such as plastic. Packaging and disposable items that used to be made of plastic have largely been replaced with paper. LÄS MER

  4. 9. The use of hyperspectral sensors for quality assessment : A quantitative study of moisture content in indoor vertical farming

    Master-uppsats, Mälardalens universitet/Akademin för innovation, design och teknik

    Författare :Arezo Ahaddi; Zeineb Al-Husseini; [2023]
    Nyckelord :Hyperspectral Imaging; lettuce; moisture content; NIR; near-infrared spectroscopy; shelf life; quality assessment; vertical farming; MicroNIR;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose: This research will study how hyperspectral sensoring can assess the moisture content of lettuce by monitoring its growth in indoor vertical farming. Research questions: “What accuracy can be achieved when using hyperspectral sensoring for assessing the moisture content of lettuce leaves grown in vertical farming?” “How can vertical farming contribute to sustainability in conjunction with integration of NIR spectroscopy?” Methodology: This study is an experimental study with a deductive approach in which experiments have been performed using the hyperspectral technologies singlespot sensor and the hyperspectral camera Specim FX17 to collect spectral data. 5. 10. Towards a Reliable and Valid Analysis of VO2m Off-Kinetics

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för kemi, bioteknologi och hälsa (CBH)

    Författare :Hrafnkell Þráinsson; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Sports Technology; Near-infrared spectroscopy; Muscle oxidative capacity; Occlusion; Software; Automation; Idrottsteknologi; Near-infrared spectroscopy; Muskulaturens oxidativa förmåga; Ocklusion; Programvara; Automatisering;

    Sammanfattning : Non-invasive methods to evaluate skeletal muscle oxidative capacity have beenemerging as a viable substitute for invasive methods in recent years. One ofthose methods utilises near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to calculate V O2mrecovery off-kinetics following an exercise. LÄS MER
