1. Application of Fourier Transforms to time-resolved ambient pressure spectroscopy operando studies of CO oxidation over Pt(111)
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/SynkrotronljusfysikSammanfattning : The study of heterogeneous catalysis has important implications in increasing the efficiency of industrial processes and in reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases from sources such as automobiles. A reaction with high industrial relevance is the oxidation of CO on noble metal catalysts. LÄS MER
2. Analys av platinaytor och platinatennytor under katalytisk etanoloxidation med röntgenfotoelektronspectroskopi
Magister-uppsats, Malmö universitet/Institutionen för materialvetenskap och tillämpad matematik (MTM)Sammanfattning : Fuel cells are more efficient and cleaner than combustion engines. Ethanol as a fuel has a high energy density and is safer and easier to handle than hydrogen which is normally used in fuel cells. If efficient fuel cells on alcohol were available, they could be used for engines and power sources for electronics. LÄS MER
3. Observing phase changes in real time on ultrathin Iron oxide surfaces
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Synkrotronljusfysik; Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionenSammanfattning : Studying catalysts under such non-equilibrium conditions is a step towards approaching more realistic reaction conditions for working catalysts. Reactivity during phase changes of ultra-thin FeO2 films grown on Pt(111) are studied in situ with Ambient Pressure X-ray Photo Emission Spectroscopy and Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry, while running the CO oxidation reaction at 160°C and 0:6 mbar. 4. The HPXPS Instrument at MAX-lab : a Powerful Tool for In Situ Catalysis Investigations
Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Fysiska institutionen; Lunds universitet/SynkrotronljusfysikSammanfattning : A new instrument for near ambient x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy investigations of surfaces has been installed at beamline I511 of the MAX-II electron storage ring at the MAX IV Laboratory. This high pressure x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy instrument is capable of surface chemistry investigations in near ambient pressures using x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), a technique that traditionally is limited to ultrahigh vacuum. 5. The role of tin in surface bonding of CO to Pt(111)
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, KTH/Skolan för informations- och kommunikationsteknik (ICT)Sammanfattning : We have used synchrotron radiation based photoelectron spectroscopy to study tin induced modifications in surface bonding of CO to Pt(111). Tin can form both so-called surface alloys, where tin replaces surface platinum atoms and ordered adatom structures where tin stays on top of the surface. The alloy is formed after annealing to 600 °C. LÄS MER
