   Sammanfattning : A garnet from the Sesia Zone, NW Italy, was selected for Major and Rare Earth Element (REE) mapping, using LA-ICP-MS – a procedure previously not conducted at the Department of Earth Science at University of Gothenburg. The original inclusion assemblage of the garnet is preserved, and the mapping revealed two distinct changes in both garnet chemistry and inclusion assemblage, both which can be linked to the metamorphic development of the region.    Sammanfattning : There are many interesting applications of proton conducting oxides, such as electrolytes in fuel cells, hydrogen sensors and catalytic membranes for hydrogenation or dehydrogenation of organic compounds.    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to investigate the rare earth element (REE) distribution within titanite, garnet and epidote from the Aitik mine tailings, the waste material of a large porphyry-copper deposit mined in northern Sweden.    Sammanfattning : Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) has been utilised to investigate the age and chemical composition of two texturally different types of monazite in leucosome and mesosome of polymetamorphic aluminous migmatitic gneisses at Stensjöstrand, Halland.
