    Sammanfattning : Abstract The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of two different methods of organizing endurance training in trained male and female cross-country skiers and biathletes during a 5-week preparation period. Method One group of athletes performed block periodization (BP; n=10), wherein week 1 and 3 constituted of respectively five and three sessions of high intensity aerobic training (HIT), followed by respectively one and two weeks of one weekly HIT session.
