1. Effect of temperature on early stage adhesion during TiAlN sliding against Inconel 718 and Stainless steel 316L : High temperature tribology
Master-uppsats, Luleå tekniska universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskap och matematikSammanfattning : High-performance materials such as stainless steels and nickel based super alloys are widely used in demanding applications where high mechanical and thermal properties are required. The applications of super alloys are mainly found in jet engines, power plants and gas turbines demanding high fatigue strength, corrosion and oxidation resistance as well as wear resistant properties. 2. Investigation of the Microstructure of Plastically Deformed Cemented Carbide
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : During machining operation, cemented carbide tools are exposed to high loads and temperatures, which eventually leads to plastic deformation of the tool material. The aim of this work was to investigate if the microstructures of creep deformed micro grain cemented carbides can be linked to alloying elements and mechanical properties. LÄS MER
3. Effect of post-treatment of cemented carbide : Microstructural investigation and evaluation of mechanical properties of cemented carbide inserts for rock tool applications
Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Avdelningen för maskin- och materialteknikSammanfattning : Cemented carbides are used in rock tool applications by reason of their beneficial mechanical properties, i.e. a combination of high toughness, wear resistance and hardness. The cemented carbides commonly receive their hardness from tungsten carbides (WC) whereas cobalt (Co) is the dominating binder material. LÄS MER
4. Effect of carbon activity on microstructure evolution in WC-Ni cemented carbides
Master-uppsats, KTH/MaterialvetenskapSammanfattning : The aim of this work was to systematically study how the microstructure evolution is affected by the carbon activity in WC-Ni cemented carbides. Seven WC-9.59at%Ni alloys with different carbon activity were sintered at 1500 °C. LÄS MER
5. Effect of tungsten carbides properties of overlay welded WC/NiSiB composite coatings
Master-uppsats, KTH/Industriell produktionSammanfattning : To get a long life of a product which is subjected to heavy mechanical wear, materials with particularly good properties such as high hardness and the ability to resist high temperature is required. Tungsten carbide is a material which has these properties, but to manufacture large products for mining industry or agriculture entirely of this material is neither practical nor quite beneficial when the disadvantages of the materials such as brittleness, high weight and high price will have a major affect.
