    Sammanfattning : In this paper we examine the relationship between political and economic institutions. We first introduce a model by Acemoglu and Robinson (2008) on social conflict that predicts that if the majority of society has a political advantage in democracy that is sufficiently high, they are able to establish competitive labor market institutions which are beneficial for the majority but not for the (small) elite.
