    Sammanfattning : The present study examines the discussions about alliance policy in the Swedish council of the realm 1680-1683. Taking issue with earlier research that has portrayed the Swedish foreign policy during this period in realist terms, the study instead uses the concepts of friendship, status and sovereignty to give context to the arguments used by the council when discussing alliance partners.     Sammanfattning : This study analyses the representation of Monarchy and Republic in Dante’s Divine Comedy. The starting point is the puzzling fact that Dante places Bruto and Cassius in the deepest pit of Hell but makes Cato the custodian of Mount Purgatory, bound for everlasting glory in Paradise at the Day of Judgement, even though all three of them were on the same side in the war against Julius Ceasar at the end of the Roman Republic.     Sammanfattning : The aim of this paper is to analyse the fieldwork that the British anthropologist Meyer Fortes conducted in the mid-thirties among the Tallensi-tribe in northern Ghana, then called British Gold Coast, a country that had been a European colony for several hundred years. It was not however until the early years of the 20th century that the British Empire, which had had control over the Gold Coast for almost half a century now, turned his attention to the tribal societies in the northern territories of the country.     Sammanfattning : This paper discusses the approximately twenty Middle Iron Age hillforts located in Östra and Västra Rekarne härad in Södermanland.  "Härad", an administrative division, is likely to be derived from the earlier hundred division, which was based on equipping and manning ships at a time when society was hierarchical and the elite, through travel, had contact with the Roman Empire, inspiring new gods (such as Thor and Odin) to worship.
