    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on the observation that in the Lake Mälaren region, places with the name Stenby ("stone village") tend to be located next to hillforts. I have researched the occurrence of the place name Stenby with medieval evidence for the name in eastern central Sweden and found sixteen that are located in the Mälaren Valley region. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Atlantic bluefin tuna is an efficient predator and was a common pelagic species in the north-east Atlantic, including the North Sea and the areas of Skagerrak and Kattegat, in the first half of the 20th century. Following a population collapse in the 1960s, the tuna disappeared from Skagerrak and Kattegatt, however in recent years the tuna has returned to these waters following successful management.     Sammanfattning : Today, DNA-barcoding with the gene COI is regularly used in the identification of fish. However, this is not an adequate way of identifying species of tuna due to COI lacking sufficient interspecies divergence.     Sammanfattning : The magnetic tunability of ferrites has been studied and applied on many electric components for working in various frequency bands. Filters or resonators loaded by ferrites can thus work for different frequency requirements by tunning external biasing field.
