    Sammanfattning : Brazil, like other Latin American countries, has witnessed an increase in south-south migration rates in the last decade. This scenario led to important changes in migration policies at the Federal level – the update of the conservative Foreigner Statute from 1980 to a rights-based Migration law in 2017 is the prime example of how migration flows can contribute to the promotion of rights and strengthen democracy in host societies.     Sammanfattning : This master thesis project is a part of a larger project with the goal of develop-ing a drivetrain, utilizing a hydrostatic transmission, for horizontal axis mid-sizewind turbines. Some of the benefits from using a hydrostatic transmission are thata variable speed operation is possible without the use of a frequency converter,the generator may be placed on the ground and thus reduce weight in the nacelleand also using hydraulic components can increase lifetime and robustness of thesystem.     Sammanfattning : The project consists of developing new housing for the residents of Papaquara, 191 people who lived in a favela until early2011, when they were evicted and had their houses demolished by the local government while their settlement was severely flooded. This new housing project, which is firmly grounded in real circumstances, builds upon research on irregular autoconstructed settlements, their architectural characteristics and specifically the temporal aspect of how spatial qualities are constructed in such areas.
