1. Reconstruction of Radio Detector Data using Graph Neural Networks
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : The current neutrino detectors have been able to detect neutrinos in the range of TeV to 100 PeV, however, ultra high energy (UHE) neutrinos above 100 PeV still remain to be detected. A new neutrino detector, the RNO-G, is currently being constructed in Greenland with the purpose of detecting the first UHE neutrinos using radio antennas capable of measuring the Askaryan pulse generated after a neutrino interaction with the ice molecules. 2. Neutrino Hotspots in the Universe: a Sensitivity Study Using the IceCube Neutrino Observatory
Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Skolan för teknikvetenskap (SCI)Sammanfattning : In this report, we aim to assess the sensitivity and 5$\sigma$ discovery potential of IceCube, the largest neutrino observatory on Earth, and compare it with prior findings. Our thesis will focus on a point source analysis, exploring the energy and declination dependencies, with particular emphasis on high-energy neutrinos. LÄS MER
3. Fast Simulations of Radio Neutrino Detectors : Using Generative Adversarial Networks and Artificial Neural Networks
Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : Neutrino astronomy is expanding into the ultra-high energy (>1017eV) frontier with the use of in-ice detection of Askaryan radio emission from neutrino-induced particle showers. There are already pilot arrays for validating the technology and the next few years will see the planning and construction of IceCube-Gen2, an upgrade to the current neutrino telescope IceCube. 4. Reconstruction of the energy of neutrinos with neural networks: Event-by-event uncertainty estimation
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : When high-energy neutrinos interact with matter, radio waves will be emitted. Radio detectionallows us to measure UHE(> 1016eV) neutrinos by instrumenting a huge volume with a sparsearray of radio antenna stations at a low cost. LÄS MER
5. Birefringence: Effects and Implications on In-Ice Radio Detection of High-Energy Neutrinos
Master-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/HögenergifysikSammanfattning : The detection of high-energy neutrinos in the EeV range requires new detection techniques to cope with the small expected flux. The radio detection method, utilizing Askaryan emission, can be used to detect these neutrinos in polar ice. LÄS MER
