  1. 1. Solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in 3-D to model gas flow in a room

    Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå, Uppsala universitet/Avdelningen för beräkningsvetenskap

    Författare :Fredrik Malmström; [2024]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis proposes to model the flow of gases in a room by solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations in three dimensions. The transportationof scalars such as temperature and concentration of CO2 is modeled by solving the advection-diffusion equation, and the effects of temperature on thevelocity is accounted for by employing the Boussinesq approximation. 2. 2. Lid driven cavity flow using stencil-based numerical methods

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för informationsteknologi

    Författare :Hannes Juujärvi; Isak Kinnunen; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Finite differences; incompressible Navier-Stokes equations; lid driven cavity flow; benchmark problem; RBF-FD-LS; FDM; accuracy; computational cost; stream function-vorticity formulation;

    Sammanfattning : In this report the regular finite differences method (FDM) and a least-squares radial basis function-generated finite differences method (RBF-FD-LS) is used to solve the two-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for the lid driven cavity problem. The Navier-Stokes equations is solved using stream function-vorticity formulation. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Finite Element Approximations of 2D Incompressible Navier-Stokes Equations Using Residual Viscosity

    Kandidat-uppsats, Uppsala universitet/Institutionen för teknikvetenskaper

    Författare :William Sjösten; Victor Vadling; [2018]
    Nyckelord :Finite element method; incompressible Navier-Stokes equations; residual based artificial viscosity; stabilization; adaptive method; Chorin s method; IPCS; Crank-Nicholson s method; benchmark problems; CPU-time; accuracy;

    Sammanfattning : Chorin’s method, Incremental Pressure Correction Scheme (IPCS) and Crank-Nicolson’s method (CN) are three numerical methods that were investigated in this study. These methods were here used for solving the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, which describe the motion of an incompressible fluid, in three different benchmark problems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. CFD Simulation of Jet Cooling andImplementation of Flow Solvers inGPU

    Master-uppsats, KTH/Numerisk analys, NA

    Författare :Md. Lokman Hosain; [2013]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : In rolling of steel into thin sheets the final step is the cooling of the finished product on the Runout Table. In this thesis, the heat transfer into a water jet impinging on a hot flat steel plate was studied as the key cooling process on the runout table. The temperature of the plate was kept under the boiling point. LÄS MER
