  1. 1. Fibre volume fractions’ and printing directions’ effects on tribological and mechanical properties in FDM printed carbon fibre reinforced PEEK : Suitability assessment of FDM printed PEEK-CF to act in a steam engine’s ball joint, by analysis of compressive properties, impact strength, friction and wear

    Master-uppsats, Karlstads universitet/Institutionen för ingenjörsvetenskap och fysik (from 2013)

    Författare :William Tönnberg; [2022]
    Nyckelord :Ranotor; steam engine; PEEK; polyether-ether-ketone; carbon fibre reinforced PEEK; impact strength; compressive strength; compressive modulus; friction; wear; tribology; FFF; FDM; 3D-printing; printing parameters;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose with this study was to investigate FDM/FFF manufactured carbon fibre reinforced PEEK and assess its suitability to act as a sealing- and bearing material in a modern steam engine’s ball joint. The steam engine is totally free from oil due to the risk of water- and steam contamination. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Synchrotron X-ray Tomography Study of Bone-implant Integration

    Master-uppsats, Lunds universitet/Avdelningen för Biomedicinsk teknik

    Författare :Ornella Lohéac; [2021]
    Nyckelord :Bone-implant; Digital volume correlation; Micro-computed tomography; PEEK; Synchrotron; Technology and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Implant loosening is a recurring problem in the field of orthopedics, typically resulting in a physical and financial burden for the patient. Proper integration of orthopedic implants within host bones is a fundamental requirement for the successful function and limited risk of failure of implants which, in-vivo, must support various loading conditions. 3. 3. Thermoplastic composites in aerosructure industries : An evaluation report

    Kandidat-uppsats, KTH/Materialvetenskap

    Författare :Linnéa Björkman; Alexandra Lidholm; [2017]
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : There has been a high development of advanced composites with matrix systems of thermoset polymers in the aerostructure industry, but these thermosets can cause problems. Therefore, the aim of this project is to evaluate matrix systems made of thermoplastics, which has been done by theoretical studies. LÄS MER
