Sammanfattning: This thesis purpose is to determine an explanation of the efficiency in a labour-market related project. “Enter” is an EU-financed project with a focus on long-term unemployed workers in the district Härlanda, Gothenburg. Starting in September 2004, Enter offers individually based coaching and job guidance to totally 110 young persons with problems entering the labour market. The goal is to provide these people courage to find either full or part time employment or to start study. To detect in which cases the project is successful, or “efficient”, a logistic regression model is used. The model consists of the dependent binary variable efficiency, which are participators that have succeeded finding either a fulltime job or education within less than 6 months or not. The independent variables contain individual data, in categories relevant on the dependent. The outcome shows three main variables for under current conditions predicting whether a person is going to find an employment within 6 months or not; impediment of work, the time in dependency of governmental subsidies and housing problems. Housing problems shows a crucial effect for finding a job or not, which is confirmed by the project management. Impediment of work shows a large negative effect for problems such as drug abuse, psychical problems and neurone physic problems. Finally, a long time outside the labour market is more likely to make it even longer. Time in dependency of governmental subsidies is the only significant independent variable for clients without impediment of work or housing problems. The logistic regression model estimates that for clients with less than 6 months unemployment (and no other documented problems) the chance of finding a job in efficient time is 52,7 %, but the probability shrinks down to less than 1 % for participants with 10 months of unemployment or more.
