Alberga odlingskooperativ: folkets hus, grönsaksodling & marknad

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från KTH/Arkitektur

Sammanfattning: The project area Alberga is a locality in Eskilstuna municipality. This project is based on the Sustainable Development Goal 1 – No poverty, more particularly sub-goal 1:5 Build resilience to economic, social, and environmental disasters which partially is about achieving a higher degree of self-sustainability. In previous analyzes and survey of Eskilstuna municipality, we could identify that one of the main potentials for Eskilstuna’s countryside is the large areas of arable land, a prerequisite for self-sufficient food production. In this project, a community center building has been designed, combined with agriculture and a marketplace. The building is quite reserved towards the northern side and opens to the south with a view towards a community garden where vegetables, root vegetables and legumes are grown. In addition to the community center program, the building includes space for storage of the crops, storing garden tools, a marketplace and a restaurant that uses locally grown crops. The community garden is managed by the members of the agricultural cooperative who cultivate collectively and share the harvest. The excess of what is produced is sold on the market.  The construction of the building consists of three-part glulam frames that span 20 meters. Between the glulam frames, there are cross laminated timber elements and roof beams that stabilize the frame. The building has an integrated solar roof that produces energy that supplies the building.
