Inventering enligt MIFO fas 1 av fyra nedlagda deponier i Åstorps kommun

Sammanfattning: In Sweden, it is every municipality’s responsibility to identify and risk evaluate disused landfills located within the municipality. The purpose of this study is to risk evaluate four disused landfills in Åstorps kommun, Scania, for which a risk evaluation hasn’t previously been done. In this study, the risk evaluation has been done by using a revised version of MIFO (Method of Surveying Contaminated Sites) phase 1. This has included visits to the disused landfills and archive studies. The risk evaluation through MIFO leads to a risk classification. The results led to one object being classified as risk class 4 (low risk), two objects being classified as risk class 3 (moderate risk) and one object being classified as risk class 2 (high risk). Potential risks from the disused landfills are formation of landfill gas and contaminant transport to ground- and surface water. Contaminant transport to groundwater is one of the main factors, as two of the objects are located within a water protection area. It should be noted that the risk classification is not final and can only be confirmed or demented by further studies, for example with soil or water sampling. It is recommended that this is done for the object which was classified as risk class 2. Potentially, further studies could also be relevant for the objects classified as risk class 3.
