Bo01 20 år senare – en utvärdering av grönytefaktorn på Bo01 i Västra Hamnen, Malmö

Sammanfattning: Greenery and water create ecosystem services that are particularly important in cities, where these areas can be limited. It is therefore important that greenery and water are well incorporated in the planning stage of city development. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the biotope area factor of six different apartment courtyards that were a part of the housing fair Bo01 in Malmö, Sweden. The area of different greenery and water structures on the courtyards were measured based on digitization using ArcGIS Pro and measurements done in the field. The current biotope area factor was then calculated following the same method that was used when Bo01 was developed. The current biotope area factors were then compared to the biotope area factors indicated in the building permits and the factors calculated in an evaluation done on several courtyards at Bo01 from the year 2002. The results show that the biotope area factor has declined on all courtyards in relation to the values given in both the building permits and the evaluation. Green walls, green roofs, water surfaces and surfaces with gravel are structures that have decreased. Hard surfaces and surfaces with stone tiles are structures that have increased. The loss of greenery and water could be a result of a lack of knowledge on maintenance or that unsatisfactory growing environments for the plants were not considered in planning. This study can be used by municipalities or city planners who want to use the biotope area factor in future developments.
