Musikestetiska produktioner i den pedagogiska verksamheten - en fallstudie av Allvar Gullstrandgymnasiet

Sammanfattning: Title: Music-esthetical productions in the educational work - a case study of the Allvar Gullstrand highschool. Problem: A problem associated with working with project- and thematic studies which result in esthetical productions is that it often demands extra effort and time beyond the schedule to carry the production through. There are no instructions saying that schools are to work with this kind of arrangements, but nevertheless it occurs in most schools, however in a different extent, quality and form. Purpose: The purpose of my study is to elucidate possibilities and limitations in different methods of work and structures, and also examine what motives the teachers and the school management have for working with a music-esthetical production as a goal. Method: I have done a qualitative case study of a Swedish upper secondary school where I interviewed four teachers and one principal, to get a view of reality and examine how teachers with different background look at, and in reality behave in, the work with music-esthetical productions in the education. Conclusions: What I have concluded in this case study is the importance of having a clear goal and that the project works are considered to create meaning and personal growth. The work with productions also makes integration of subjects, flexible teaching, and student involvement possible plus that it represents important parts of the school's profile. However it appears to be a time and effort consuming work form that does not quite fit in the school structure of today. Problem: Ett problem förenat med att arbeta med projekt och temastudier som resulterar i estetiska produktioner är att det ofta krävs extra ansträngning och tid utöver lektionstid för att genomföra produktionen. Det finns inga direktiv till skolorna att de skall arbeta med dessa arrangemang, men ändå förekommer de på så gott som alla skolor, om än i olika omfattningar, kvalitet och form. Syfte: Syftet med min undersökning är att belysa möjligheter och begränsningar med olika arbetsformer och strukturer samt att undersöka vilka motiv lärare och skolledning på en gymnasieskola har för att arbeta med en musikestetisk produktion som mål i undervisningen. Metod: Jag har gjort en kvalitativ undersökning i form av en fallstudie av där jag intervjuat fyra lärare och en rektor, för att undersöka hur de uppfattar, tolkar och i praktiken förhåller sig till att arbeta med musikestetiska produktioner i den pedagogiska verksamheten. Slutsatser: Bland sådant jag kommit fram till i fallstudien är vikten av att ha tydliga mål med projekten och att desamma anses vara meningsskapande och personlighetsutvecklande. Arbetet med produktioner möjliggör också ämnesintegrering, flexibel undervisning, elevinflytande och står för viktiga delar i skolans profilering. Det verkar dock innebära ett tids- och energikrävande arbete som inte riktigt passar in i den nuvarande skolans struktur.
