Effektivisering av materialförsörjning : En litteraturstudie

Sammanfattning: It is becoming increasingly important to have a more efficient and well-functioning supply chain in order to achieve competitiveness and therefor profitability in an increasingly globalized market which higher demands on companies. For a company to maintain its competitive advantage, companies must adapt to changes through continuous improvements and implementing of forecasting to reduce waste of company’s resources. Another way for a company to maintain its competitiveness is to streamline processes by identifying and eliminating non-value-adding activities throughout the supply chain. Flexible suppliers are key factor for efficient material supply and help to contribute preventing uncertainties about changes in demand and therefore competitive advantages for the benefit of own company and the customer company. With efficient suppliers you get more efficient material flow that leads to lower warehousing costs, more efficient production and higher delivery service. It is therefore important that suppliers receive information about materials and orders as early as possible in order to plan the best way possible.  Exchanging information about each other´s activities creates space to share knowledge and experiences and provide opportunity for intimate relationship and trust in each other to create healthy and long-term relationship.
