Sammanfattning: This thesis will be examining how digital teaching aids portray gendernorms, specifically in the subject of history for ages 10-13. This is researched by finding out how the different digital teaching aids are constructed linked to gender. Gender norms appear in texts and images, also by which gender norms dominate in the digital teaching aids. The study is based on Hirdman's (1988) Gender Theory which separates the male and the female and shows how society sees the man as more worthy than the woman. The methods used are both quantitative and qualitative, both text and image analysis are presented in the essay. It is intended that the essay will add knowledge about the purpose of the essay for 10 to 13-year old’s as there is a knowledge gap within these age groups of students. In conclusion, gender norms are portrayed, conveying men as being dominant and powerful.
