Sammanfattning: The main subject of this quantitative study is political history. The study focuses on electoral participation to the Swedish parliament in a historical, regional context. The timeframe concern the elections in the democratically emancipatory 1920s and the economically successful 1950s. Kronoberg county is the region in focus of the study. The aim of the study is to examine who chosed to use his or her democratic rights, which political party the people of the region voted for and try to figure out what kind of structural lines there might be to explain why there is a broad variation in electoral participation in different districts in the region. The differences are expected to develop over time, which motivates the different periods of time.
